Precision and Dimensional Stability of Bonded Joints of Carbon-Fibre-Reinforced Polymers Parts

This article aims to investigate the accuracy and dimensional stability of bonded metal CFRP (Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastic) adherends. The motivation behind this study was assess suitability for optical devices through evaluation precision bonding technology. A binocular selected as a reference device. technological sample designed, with required total runout key dimensions 0.05 mm. underwent testing according ISO 9022-1. evaluated after production environmental tests. Eight out 15 samples were turned gluing due insufficient accuracy. None exceeded deviation 0.01 mm, average value maximal 0.0041 noncalibrated performed significantly worse 0.0164 measurements during climatic tests showed that largest (on 77.6% maximum achieved deviation) occurs at first temperature loading.
